Edward H. Rawles
Mr. Rawles primarily practices civil litigation in state and federal courts, concentrating on
personal injury matters. He handles all types of negligence actions, including professional and
medical negligence, as well as product liability cases. Mr. Rawles is the only attorney in
Champaign County who is Board Certified as a Civil Trial Advocate by the National Board of
Trial Advocacy, Washington, D.C. He obtained that certification in 1982. Mr. Rawles is the
coauthor of “Deposing the Medical Witness,” Lawyers Guide to Medical Proof, Matthew Bender
(1982), and has been listed in Who’s Who in American Law since 1985. Mr. Rawles has also been
a member of the Illinois Supreme Court Committee on Character and Fitness, Fourth District,
since 2004. He is rated “A” by Martindale-Hubbell, which bases its ratings on confidential
evaluations by other attorneys. In addition, he was selected by peer review as a Super Lawyer
from 2007 through 2009. Mr. Rawles joined the firm in 1970, and became a principal in the firm
in 1973. He served as President of the firm from 1990-1998.
